New to QSLL?
Welcome to the Community!
If you are new to baseball or recently moved to the Saratoga area, you’re in the right place. Quito Saratoga Little League (QSLL) is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to teaching sportsmanship, building community, and having fun.
Whether your child is holding a bat for the first time or you are looking to understand how the season works, here is everything you need to get started.
1. Where to Start: Tee Ball (Ages 4-6)
Tee Ball is our introductory division designed specifically for our youngest players.
The Experience: No prior baseball knowledge is required for players or parents. Most families in this division are also new to the sport.
Ages: Typically 4–6 years old. Highly skilled 6-year-olds may opt to move up to Single A.
The Goal: We focus on making practices fun and teaching basic skills to encourage a lifelong love of the game.
2. The Schedule
We know family time is valuable. For our introductory divisions, we keep the schedule predictable:
Tee Ball: Both practices and games are held on Saturdays during the season (March through May).
A-Majors: Older divisions typically have 1–2 weekday practices and games on Saturdays.
3. Registration
Registration for the spring season typically opens in late May/early June for the following year. Keep an eye on our Registration page for the official announcement.
4. Gear You’ll Need
The league provides a team jersey and hat. Parents are generally expected to provide:
A baseball glove (sized for the child’s hand).
Baseball pants (usually white or grey, confirmed by your coach).
Cleats (rubber, no metal for younger divisions).
A batting helmet (recommended for hygiene, though some team helmets may be available).
5. Parent Involvement & Volunteering
QSLL is powered by families. To foster a community atmosphere and keep operations running smoothly, we have a family volunteer requirement:
Tee Ball Families: 5 volunteer points/hours per season.
Older Divisions: 15 volunteer points/hours per season.
Opportunities: From field maintenance and coaching to helping at the snack shack, there are plenty of ways to chip in. Learn more on our Volunteer Opportunities page.
